Kitchen Takes Shape With The Hexagon
Written by Anne-Marie Nash
Sometimes it’s one small element that can bring an entire design together; that single inspiration piece you can build a whole space around. For this Sherwood, OR farmhouse kitchen and laundry room remodel, it all started with a hexagon.
The hexagon is considered one of nature's perfect shapes. We see it in beehives, flowers and snowflakes. The honeycomb pattern fits perfectly into interior design, as it adds fresh geometric angles to any surface in any room.
For this project, the homeowner was drawn to the hexagon shape. She chose the 3” Bianco Carrara marble hexagon mosaic for her backsplash in her kitchen and laundry room. Not only will the hexagon shape maintain its appeal over the years, this classic white marble embodies timeless beauty.
To understand a client’s design style, I enjoy watching them browse the showroom to see what they are drawn to. We let them drive the look and then we develop and find tune from there,. We want our clients to love and feel at home in their new spaces for many years to come.
From the kitchen to the laundry room, this marble backsplash keeps adding style to this home. By using the same material for the counter and backsplash, the two rooms have a seamless feel.
INTERESTING SIDE NOTE
So excited CK Hoffman Design and THIS project were one of the 12 nominees at the 2019 Structure + Style Awards hosted by Oregon Home Magazine. We didn’t take home the prize, but just so honored to be part of it all!
